La Brother Sun Foundation<\/strong> was created by Father Costantino Ruggeri with the aim of promoting a broader awareness in the field of the 'built church'. In fact, the founder believed that the sacred space should be the result of a balance between artistic qualities and the mystical dimension, together capable of transforming architecture into a place of authentic spiritual elevation. It is from this awareness that the Foundation's mission was born: to support and spread a culture of sacred art and architecture that places the spirituality of the liturgical place at the centre.<\/p>

With this in mind, the Foundation has, over the years, launched several initiatives that focus on the theme of contemporary religious space. The most significant contribution is represented by the Frate Sole International Prize, strongly desired by Father Costantino Ruggeri and aimed at the realisation of new religious buildings in the world. The prize, which is held every four years, is today recognised as a major reference in the international panorama of sacred architecture.
It is flanked by the Frate Sole European Prize for Degree Theses, dedicated to young designers who tackle the topic of designing a new church in an academic context.<\/p>

Alongside these awards, the Foundation also promotes the DEA Award, a competition of ideas developed in collaboration with the Pavia Province Secondary Schools, ANCE Pavia and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Pavia. The competition was created with the intention of creating a bridge between different worlds: on the one hand, the students of the CAT Schools and the Liceo Artistico, who are confronted with a design theme through the tools of school didactics; on the other hand, the university and professional context, with which the participants dialogue thanks also to the meeting with the architects awarded by the Frate Sole Foundation.<\/p>

The Foundation's activities are not limited to prizes: it promotes exhibitions, conferences, meetings, publications and various publishing projects that contribute to spreading knowledge about contemporary sacred space and the work of its founder. The exhibitions, which are often dedicated to the central themes of sacred art or to the work of Father Ruggeri, allow a direct dialogue with the artist's materials, works and creative paths.
The conferences, on the other hand, represent an opportunity for scholars, planners, cultural and ecclesiastical institutions to exchange views and reflections on the transformations and perspectives of contemporary sacred architecture.<\/p>

An important role is also played by the publishing production: books, catalogues, popular materials and scientific contributions that document, analyse and narrate both the artistic and spiritual heritage of Father Costantino Ruggeri and the ongoing research in the field of liturgical space.<\/p>

Thanks to this articulated set of initiatives, the Frate Sole Foundation is today recognised as an international reference point in the reflection on contemporary sacred architecture.
