NEW HEAVENS AND NEW EARTH

The anniversary of the Canticle of the Creatures by Saint Francis of Assisi marks the centenary of the birth of Father Costantino Ruggeri, a Franciscan artist known throughout the world for his pictorial, sculptural and architectural works and for his lead-blown antique glass windows.

The narrative construction of Father Costantino Ruggeri's works is visible throughout the two exhibition floors of the Chapel of the Canticle of the Creatures and is integrated with both the artistic context of his training and the environment of Sacro Monte.
The entire route invites visitors to think about universal values.

The proposed exhibition is a courageous and searching project that, starting from a context, should make us reflect on our identity, on the need for relationships, for exchanges of knowledge, for reflections on our existence.

Father Constantine's life was a gift for which we only have to thank the Lord because it ideally allows us to retrace the life of St. Francis and intoxicate ourselves with the beauty that the Saint of Assisi embodied in perfect joy.
